Studio Log: Drawing Dandelions with Inktense Pencils and oil pastels

First layer of black ink, sketch of a dandelion on white paper.

This month I’ve been experimenting a little bit with process. I took this class taught by Marco Mazzoni and decided to try the process he shares with some botanical drawings. These dandelion sketches are my results. Overall I really enjoy doing the black first, or at least sooner in the process, and I think this will inform my process going forward. Just not quite sure in what way yet. There’s always something new to try.
